How do I shrink videos from my digital camera to send via email as attachment?

I have a cannon digital camera , which takes excellent pics and small videos. But Im having trouble attaching the videos to my emails when using yahoo mail. I pick the file I want, press the attach file button, and its starts loading the video, but stays at this step forever. Is there away to compress the video so it will load quickly onto the email?

There is an alternative to sending them through email. Go to U Send It file transfer, a free service for files up to 100Mb. It takes a while to load also, but I think it’s faster than Yahoo. They hold the file for 7 days or 100 downloads.
