We went from dry CompuServe to AOL communities, to email, chat, the online news and weather boom, sharing online photos and greeting cards, instant messaging, the online music and MP3 boom, commercial video with movie trailers and Victoria’s Secret’s live show… and for now, back to communities with MySpace, and personalized video with YouTube.
What’s next?
Those aren’t phenomena. Those are companies that come out with updated internet features for everyone to expand on. An internet phenomenon is something that comes from or turns into a meme. Such as Star Wars Kid. For example, a Y!A phenomenon/meme would be PORK CHOPS.
