Software program for creating/Editing Videos from Camcorder ?

I am having Sony Mini-Dv Camcorder(DCR-HC20) for family videos, but for the last 2-3 yrs. I am looking for some software program that can help me in creating/ editing & making final custom-made DVDs + VCDs of my camcorder videos stored in Mini-Dvs ( about 25-30 Mini-Dvs ), but I don’t have DVD burner in my PC (DVD -rom only), instead I have Sony DVD player/ burner & it is not easy to make DVDs from it !!
Please suggest some easy to use (good-better-best) software programs from low to high price range!!
What about Adobe’s ? or else ? Please suggest some Software for digital PHOTOS also !!!
