Ulead Video Editing Software Trial Version
What video editing software can you suggest? I have a particularly weak system. Help?
I feel ready to switch from Windows Movie Maker, but my system is too weak to support certain software. I tried several free trials of video editing software, like Ulead Video Studio and Sony Vegas, and no, they weren’t so pretty on my system. I think that the mainstream requirements are too high. Which software do you suggest? Could I get older versions? If so, which versions do you suggest?

764 MB RAM
A simple DVD – CD-RW drive
75 Gigs of Hard disk space

All I want to know really is which one is right for my system. I have a simple project to come up with. This is due pretty soon, after which I have to get a new PC this December.
Your best bet is to upgrade your system. it is currently VERY under powdered for video editing considering you have tried/demoed some of the better mid range apps.
The only other option you haven’t mentioned is Adobe Premier Elements which would be on a par with Windows Movie maker but possibly slightly better….+-
Older versions of apps aren’t necessarily better because most companies tend to improve stuff as they develop it.(most of the time)
If none of the above options are suitable then you will just have to put up with what you have got.
iMovie08 is the best beginner/mid range app for editing video – on Mac.
You still need to upgrade your CPU, RAM and HD because Video editing chews it up VERY quickly. Video will use up as much RAM as you can throw at it too.
