Video Editing Software Pinnacle Studio

What is the best video editing software out there?

I have used Pinnacle Studio 9 for several years. I love the capabilities but it runs way too slow (and from my research there isn’t a way to make it faster). What program is out there that is similar to pinnacle but will run faster and smoother?

I use Ulead videostudio 10 plus to edit a tv program for my church and it works great and its only about 100 bucks, it will do everything from overlay to green screen.
