Video Editing Software?

My parents bought themselves a video camera before their recent holiday, which records onto mini disks. I have no experience with such things, but as they dont have a computer they’ve asked me to sort this out for them. They have 6 full mini disks, which they have finalised, and asked me to upload them onto my computer, edit them into order and burn them onto a normal DVD for them to watch in their DVD player at home. Can anyone recommend a good software for this, something quick and easy to use as I’m no expert, but gives good results?

Before buying some software you could try Windows Movie Maker and see if that works. Otherwise some suggestions:
