Video Editing Software Sony
i need video editing software for a sony handy cam dvd camcorder to edit my wedding video. can anyone help?
The video clips won’t import to my video editing suite. It keeps saying it is an unsupported file type and will not show up in my choices when I try to import them into my time line. Any suggestions?
You need conversion software, which Sony sells for $100 or maybe you can find it on the web for free or as shareware.
DVDs use a VOB package file, which employs MPEG2 compression. You can copy the VOB files to your computer and change the VOB to MPG, but most free software still won’t handle it.
What you need to do is change the PACKAGE from VOB to AVI (which is a RIFF compression standard).
AVI is handled by all editing software. It is the defacto standard of package.
It’s all about CODEXs and CODEXs cost money and free software only has a few different CODEX, which is why there is paid software, you are paying for those licenses.
