Need a cheap,easy to use video editing software that lets me rotate videos and cut?

I used to use eyespot to edit videos from my camera but they went out of business. All I need is the ability to rotate 90 degrees and crop/cut videos (AVI format). I can’t seem to find anything that isn’t $100+. This is super basic – surely there is something cheaper that can do this! I have Windows machine with XP.
