Video editing software needed which should I use?

Ok I make videos from time to time I usually used Windows Movie Maker from Windows Vista. I recently brought Windows 7 Update and it didn’t come with any video editing software. I downloaded Windows Live Movie Maker but it really isn’t cutting it. Does anyone know of any other kind of very good Video Editing software that is free im not making big videos but I do want something that is going to have good picture quailty. Thanks in advance!
