Do video graphics cards help with emailing video? Or anything besides improving gaming experience?

From what I’ve read, video graphics cards improve PC games and make videos look nicer. I know there is a lot contained in a video graphics card but I’m not sure what else it does.

your pc is split into just a few components, each sorta like a human body with an important job. The cpu is the brain and connects everything together and relays data to everything from everything. the ram is temporary storage needed to use programs. hard drive is the pernament physical storage for data. and video card is to power everything thats 3d. that includes videos, games, video editing, anything to do with 3d and depending on how powerful the video card determines how good you can do the 3d things on how high of a resolution. the higher the resolution the better video card you need.

you can have 100 dollar video card and it plays the newest games on max on a 1024 by 768 monitor, which is pretty tiny so obviously it can do fine. you try the exact same game on whats the most popular right now 1080p or in other words 1920 by 1080 resolution, the game is gonna lag and not play as well unless you buy a better video card. Again you need to have the correct balance, if your cpu is not too good and you buy a 500 dollar video card( some idiots do this cause they think all they need is an awsome video card for gaming) the cpu isn’t fast enough to keep up with the incredible video card and what happens is what is called bottle necking. The video card can only pump out as much power as the cpu can relay the info to. So you want the correct balance or you waste money.

So ya thats about all a video card does. most desktop pcs you buy for under 600 dollars do not come with a dedicated video card, or rather the video card they give you is just a soldered chip on the motherboard, extremely weak only capable of doing extremely basic things such as internet browsing and videos( some videos even lag on higher resolution on the crappier pcs because the video card chip is so poor).
