Is it possible to run an email server and a streaming server on the same machine?

I want to be able to send newsletters to my customer and stream video, as well. I know I will need several different software bundles. What I want to know is whether the two systems will conflict if they are on the same machine or will they work side by side without problems?

They, and a web server, and an FTP server, and a few other servers could all run on the same computer if it’s a fair to good modern computer. An SMTP server, unless you’re sending hundreds of thousands of emails at once, isn’t a heavy user. I’d be more concerned that your stream is filling your upload bandwidth, and the email server will be slow because it can’t find any room on the pipe to send emails. If you have good upload bandwidth (and your provider isn’t blocking port 25 – many of them do to keep viruses from sending emails), just try it and see if it works. (An SMTP server is actually quite trivial. You can do it in about 20 lines of PHP code – the compiled version is 500kB or less.)
