Is there a technically “proper” way of dribbling soccer/football?
im kind of a beginner, and I know you usually dribble with your laces/instep. But is there a proper procedure to it other than just pushing the ball lightly with the lace?
i watch this video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uzZASIhB0E and at 2:10 it seems to suggest there is a certain way to do dribbling right?
btw, do you think that video on youtube is a good video for football basics? or do you think that’s just another video full of marketing gimmicks? I ask because I really want to get all the fundamentals right first.

There is no definite way to dribble the ball, all players develop their own style. Like the first person said, playing outside with your friends is the best way to develop, and if you see someone with excellent control ask them what they do. If it doesn’t work for you then move on, if it does then go with it. Most instructional videos are gimmicks.
