What sites/programs are out there to help create an online text-based game?
I’m just kind of curious…
I used to play a couple online, text-based war games similar to the one at:

It seems like there’s been a plethora of new games similar to that added to the market (and I’m sure that wasn’t the first one either, by any means) since I last played.

I’m wondering if anyone knows of any sites and/or programs and/or tutorials (videos, or such) that would offer assistance in creating such an online game, myself. Doesn’t have to be extravagent, although that’d be cool too. I just want to experiment and see if I could make a text-based game from scratch.
FYI, I’m in college, and have some brief experience with database creation (limited, though), and have experimented with web page creating, and program-writing (limited, though). So although I’ve probably remembered nothing specific that might help, I’ll probably at least be adaptable to general concepts needed for writing programs or such.
