Viral video marketing is basically video marketing upgraded. In other words, it is a way to spread the word around about your product through as many outlets as you possibly can. Once it starts getting passed around, someone else passes it, and so on and so on…
It sounds easy enough doesn’t it? The truth is that viral marketing takes work, at least initially. Once you get the ball rolling, it’s kind of like gossip – it just continues to spread.
Some think that once you create a video and upload it, that’s it – millions of people will watch it, go to your website and buy all of your products. This is not the way it works at all. You still have to promote your video and there are a few different way you can do this.
Question and Answer Websites -
Visit some of the Q&A websites like Yahoo Answers and answer some questions related to your niche. At the end of your answer, include: “Watch this video to find out more about “x”,” and provide the link to your video. This also works in reverse, with asking a question. “I just saw this video on “x” – does anyone know if it really works.” When people read your questions and/or answers, they will be compelled to watch your video.
Articles -
Write articles related to your niche and submit them to the article directory websites. At the end of the article, add the link to your video (If you want to learn more about “x” find out here).
Forums/Social Networking -
Visit forums and social networking sites and start posting. Remember they have to be quality posts and not just anything. Appear knowledgeable and intelligent. At the end of your post, add the link to your video. When others see that you are solving problems, they will click on your video.
Initially you have to put in some work, but as you become more popular, your viral video marketing campaign will spread like wildfire.
