Transferring to University for a different program?
I’m currently attending college in Toronto for communications. The program deals with video production, marketing, PR, audio, presentations, the whole package. However, i want to transfer to university for Business Administration studies which is a 3 year BA program. Will any credits get transferred, would i need to start from a beginners level? Will these credits get transferred for the electives (gen ed), i’m not sure how the process works? How many years would i be looking at?

The school you are transferring to will look at every class that you have taken and determine if there is an equivalent class at the school you are transferring to.
Most general education classes will transfer like English, Math, History, etc., but since some of your classes have nothing to do with business, they might not transfer (or they might transfer, but won’t be counted towards a business degree).
As far as how long it will take, that all depends on what classes transfer and what the requirements are at the new school. You will need to talk to a counselor after being admitted to the new school.
